RADIOLOGY TECH AIDE LAUREEN FORBIS SELECTED AS MASON HEALTH’S APRIL 2025 EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Release Date: May 09, 2025
A dedicated and compassionate caregiver, Laureen Forbis, Radiology Tech Aide, is celebrating her 30-year anniversary at Mason General Hospital this year. Her remarkable career is rooted in patient care, commitment, and community service, and her coworkers at Mason Health have recognized her as the April 2025 Employee of the Month.
Forbis began her journey in health care as an EMT Firefighter in 1992, driven by a passion for helping others. That passion led her to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), and in 1995, she officially joined Mason Health after fulfilling the hospital’s then-requirement of two years of nursing home experience. Since then, Forbis has played a vital role in the organization, including 27 years of service in the Emergency Department (ED), as well as time spent on Med-Surg-Pediatrics Unit, in the ICU, and currently in Diagnostic Imaging (DI).
“I’ve always loved patient care — being there to reassure people and make them feel better, whether in the field or in the hospital,” Forbis said. “It’s incredibly rewarding to know you can make a difference in someone’s worst moments. That’s why I’ve stayed here for 30 years.”
Originally from Issaquah and a longtime resident of Mason County since 1989, Forbis’ journey with Mason Health reflects her deep ties to the community. From being the first CNA regularly called into the ED to help with trauma cases — eventually helping establish CNA roles there — to embracing new challenges in Diagnostic Imaging, Forbis has always sought to grow and contribute wherever she is needed in the health care field.
Colleagues describe Laureen as a pillar of compassion, reliability, and professionalism. Her adaptability and enthusiasm for patient-centered care have made her a role model across departments.
“The opportunity to combine field knowledge with in-hospital care has been invaluable,” she said. “And working with the great teams and leadership in DI has been an exciting new chapter.”
Forbis also praises the culture of Mason Health, noting that the organization’s commitment to valuing both employees and patients has been a key reason for her long tenure.
“I’ve seen some great changes over the years,” she said. “Mason Health truly cares about its people.”
Outside of work, Forbis enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time in the Olympic Mountains. She also extends heartfelt gratitude to her husband, Max Forbis, for his unwavering support throughout her career in health care.
