Release Date: Jun 23, 2023

  • Funds raised will support the purchase of surgical and birthing beds at Mason Health

SHELTON, WA – Mason General Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that CDW Healthcare is once again supporting the health care needs of Mason County as the Platinum Sponsor of the 27th annual Quality Care Open, Mason General Hospital Foundation’s signature golf tournament fundraiser for Mason Health. This year’s tournament will take place at Eagle’s Pride Golf Course in DuPont, Washington, on Monday, July 10. The event boasts an impressive array of sponsors from both the local and regional community. The total amount donated as of June 23, 2023, is more than $64,000 in gifts, pledges and in-kind donations.

“Mason General Hospital Foundation and Mason Health could not be more excited that CDW Healthcare has returned as a Platinum Sponsor for our annual golf tournament,” said Jennifer Capps, Mason Health and Mason General Hospital Foundation Chief Development & Communication Officer. “CDW Healthcare’s sponsorship, and the sponsorship of three dozen corporate and local businesses for this event, represents an amazing investment into the rural health care needs of Mason Health patients. The number of sponsors we have is also a testament to the hard work of our golf committee team.”

The MGHF Golf Committee includes co-chairs Karen Schade from Edward Jones in Shelton and Brent Wilcox, director at OAC Services, Inc., a Gold Sponsor of the Golf Tournament, as well as Hood Canal Communications’ Darren Eisele and Our Community Credit Union’s Amber Trail, all of whom are local fixtures in the Mason County business community.

The committee decided to include Eagle’s Pride, a 27-hole championship course in Dupont, into the tournament’s rotation schedule based on feedback from many of the corporate sponsors and players that attend the event each year. The committee is excited to expand the golf tournament’s reach in order to bring more dollars back to Mason Health, in support of the Mason County community.

“In 2022, we saw a huge upswing in sponsorships and support from partners of Mason Health and Mason General Hospital Foundation outside of Mason County,” said Wilcox, who has also been a long-time MGHF golf tournament player and supporter of Mason Health. “This played a big part in our decision to find a middle ground that is convenient for all. Eagle’s Pride is right off I-5 near Nisqually and offers a great venue for the reception and awards ceremony. This is our first-time hosting outside of Mason County, and we need everyone’s support to make this a huge success.”

This year, the golf tournament is raising funds for a STERIS® 4085 General Surgical Table and new Stryker LD304 Birthing Beds. The STERIS 4085 General Surgical Table’s design gives a surgical team the flexibility, control and convenience they need for today’s patients and procedures, while the LD304 Birthing Bed provides comfort and security for both the mother and caregiver. The total Fund-An-Item goal for all of Mason General Hospital Foundation’s events for this equipment is $57,729.
