MGH&FC WELCOMES ADDITIONAL MEDICAL, MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS

Release Date: Sep 19, 2019

SHELTON, WA – Mason General Hospital & Family of Clinics continues to grow and enhance the level of health care service the District offers to the community. In addition to the five new doctors the District hired this summer, MGH&FC will welcome another slate of health care providers this fall and winter, including three psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners. With Mason Clinic opening in February 2020, the District is committed to expanding its behavioral health offerings and integrating those offerings within our new health care setting at the new medical office building.

Starting October, Kirsten Kilgore, PMHNP-BC, will join MGH Olympic Physicians as a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner before transitioning with the team to Mason Clinic next year. Kilgore graduated from the Keigwin School of Nursing at Jacksonville University in June 2019 in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program. She has worked as a registered nurse in home and hospital settings since 2016, and believes in a person-centered philosophy of care.

In January, two new psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners will be joining MGH&FC, with plans to move into Mason Clinic shortly thereafter. Katie Aldrich, PMHNP, and Vanessa Walker, PMHNP, both graduated from Gonzaga University’s Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program in August. Aldrich has worked as a regional nurse and a psychiatric nurse in hospital and prison settings in Wyoming since 2005. She has won Nurse of the Year and Mental Health Employee of the Year awards from her former employer and has also trained as a yoga teacher in Thailand. Walker has worked as a regional nurse in psychiatric hospitals in California since 2011. She has worked with patients of all ages in outpatient psychiatric settings and believes in treating patients as if they were members of her own family.

Photos of our mental health nurse practitioners will be forthcoming.
