Mark Angelo Bartolome
Mark Angelo Bartolome, BSN, RN, CCRN, PCCN, MEDSURG-BC, is a Nurse Leader with extensive experience across acute care, critical care, medical-surgical nursing, cardiology, stroke, emergency services, clinical education, home health, and hospital operations.
He currently serves as the Nurse Manager of Acute Care Services at Mason Health in Shelton, Washington, where he provides leadership for the ICU and medical, surgical, and pediatric inpatient departments. His leadership philosophy is grounded in relationship-based care, psychological safety, staff empowerment, patient-centered excellence, and creating environments where nurses are supported to grow into the best versions of themselves. His leadership earned him a March of Dimes Excellence in Action nomination in Nursing Administration and Leadership, while three nurses from his team were recognized as finalists for nursing excellence.
Prior to joining Mason Health, Mark served as the Nurse Manager on the 40-bed Medical-Surgical Unit at Overlake Medical Center in Bellevue, Washington, leading a team of approximately 100 FTEs. During his tenure, he launched the seven-month #BetterTogether campaign, a multidisciplinary improvement initiative focused on quality, patient safety, staff engagement, throughput, productivity, and patient experience. The campaign contributed to significant improvements in falls prevention, infection prevention, discharge readiness, hand hygiene performance, staff engagement, and patient experience, including achievement of the unit’s patient-experience goal for the first time in approximately a decade.
Throughout his career, Mark has held progressive leadership roles including Clinical Educator, Clinical Operations On-Site Manager, Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, Team Leader, and Preceptor. His clinical background includes cardiology, stroke, general medicine, nephrology, oncology, palliative care, emergency nursing, rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery, complex continuing care and long-term care.
Mark earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Toronto Metropolitan University, formerly Ryerson University, in 2015 and completed a postgraduate Critical Care Nursing Certificate at Durham College with a President’s Honour Roll distinction in 2022. He holds national certifications in critical care, progressive care, and medical-surgical nursing and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration in Health Administration at Eastern Washington University.
Outside of Mason Health, Mark is actively involved with the Philippine Nurses Association of America Emerald City Chapter, where he serves as an Ambassador and Executive Board Member. He is passionate about advancing nursing leadership, mentorship, professional development, diversity, inclusion, and community engagement. At the heart of Mark’s leadership is a commitment to helping others feel seen, supported, and empowered. He believes that meaningful leadership is not simply measured by outcomes, but by the people we develop, the cultures we create, and the lasting impact we leave on our teams, patients, and communities.
